Back in May,Yeshiva World News reported:
The Halichos Olam Beis Din instructed Aaron Ramati to leave Yerushalayim within 30 days. Ramati, the manager of Midrashah Be’er Miriam, faced serious charges over recent years… Ramati has been the target of very serious allegations in recent years.
The beis din… [of] Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L… rendered its decision… based on witness testimony… Ramati was subsequently summoned to the beis din a number of times but failed to appear.
The beis din forbade Ramati to have any contact with the girls, including phone or in writing…
Av Beis Din HaGaon Rav Baruch Shraga, Dayanim Rav Yitzchak Cohen and Rav Shmuel Pinchasi, rav of the Shmuel HaNavi neighborhood signed the beis din’s letter.
A few years ago Maran HaGaon HaRav Yosef Sholom Elyashiv ZT”L, Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L, Maran HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita, HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita and others signed an extremely harsh letter against Ramati.
See also this article in Behadrey Haredim from 2013 about how Ramati ran his seminary as a cult.
What is most impressive is how quickly rabbis can act when they want to, and the culprit has no yichus and has not wormed his way into the system. Ramati’s clientele were primarily BT. Luckily for this Beis Din, they did not have to contend with counter-actions by some ad hoc beis din contrived to play the beis din game and confuse the issue.
I wonder what the final outcome was?
